•  Introduction to Web Conferencing

Seminar Description: This seminar provides an introduction and overview to the world of web conferencing.  We cover how the technology evolved, what the business case/fiscal justification is for bringing it in house, and what all the terminology related to it is. We also introduce the various uses for the technology and provide a snapshot – leading into the next program – for which vendors are focused on which aspects of the technologies capabilities.  Based on the new, ground-breaking The Web Conferencing Book, this seminar can be taken as a standalone or in a series with Web Conferencing Meet & Potatoes and/or Web Conferencing: Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Seminar Objectives: Familiarize participants with the history and evolution of web conferencing; explore all elements of the business case and the pros/cons of bringing the technology in house; fully familiarize participants with all the words they need to know to be able to explore web conferencing in more depth; and to introduce participants to the different strengths and focuses of the various products out in the market.

Seminar Description: This seminar examines the specific functions of various web conferencing providers and curriculum development vendors with a special eye on the usability of the products.  Going beyond what the products can do, we take a look at what the products can do for you. You’ll enter the program thinking, perhaps, that all web conferencing products are created equal. You’ll leave knowing that they’re not. This seminar can be taken as a standalone or in conjunction with Introduction to Web Conferencing and/or Web Conferencing: Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Seminar Objectives: The participants will understand the various focuses of web conferencing products; the participants will gain an appreciation for the user interface for many of the products so that they are comfortable exploring them further; the participants will understand the various methods available to them for content delivery via the web.

Seminar Description:  This program looks at barriers to entry for web conferencing of two distinct types: technological barriers and human barriers.  In it, we explore precisely what is needed to effectively implement web conferencing in your office or home from a technology/equipment standpoint. But we also go way beyond that to explore the issues – and provide solutions – behind what keeps people from leveraging the technology to the best of their – and its – ability.

Seminar Objectives: Participants will learn what they need to have to successfully bring web conferencing in house, including leveraging legacy systems; participants will learn why and how people resist moving to this technology and how they can effectively overcome these barriers to entry.
